MUSKOGEE, OK – (Nov. 14, 2025) – Main Street Muskogee recently unveiled a vibrant new mural at 305 W. Broadway Street, transforming the Broadway Green into a colorful celebration of Muskogee’s history, heritage, and community spirit.
Created by Tulsa-based Clean Hands Inc., the large-scale mural was completed over a single weekend—starting Friday at 4 p.m. and finishing Sunday at noon—and features rich artistic symbols that reflect Muskogee’s unique identity. From nods to the city’s musical roots and Native heritage to imagery representing its rivers, azaleas, and railroads, each element tells a story of pride, connection, and culture.
The mural project was made possible through the Oklahoma Main Street Incentive Program, a public-private incentives partnership administered by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. This program empowers Main Street communities to undertake transformative downtown improvements by leveraging public resources and private investment from eligible businesses willing to contribute a portion of their employee payroll withholding taxes toward the local grant match.
Through a 1:1 incentive match offered by the Oklahoma Main Street Incentive Program, Love Bottling Company and the City of Muskogee Foundation together provided $150,000 in matching funds to Main Street Muskogee. This support allowed the organization to complete the mural and will fund other improvements throughout downtown, including new pedestrian crosswalk signals, bike racks, street furniture and planting containers.
“This project is more than public art—it’s a symbol of who we are as a community,” said Courtney Graham, Executive Director of Main Street Muskogee. “The mural celebrates Muskogee’s past and present, and through partnerships like this, we’re building a more vibrant and connected community for everyone who lives, works, and visits here.”
“This is more than a contribution from Love Bottling, it’s an investment by our employees,” said James Gulley, President & CEO of Love Bottling Company. “Downtown Muskogee represents the spirit of this community—hardworking, creative, and resilient. Supporting organizations like Main Street Muskogee helps ensure that spirit continues to shine for years to come.”
